About

Launched in 2002 in Senegal by the current Basketball Africa League President, Amadou Gallo-Fall, the SEED Project is the first basketball student-athlete program in Africa. SEED Project uses education and basketball to develop the next generation of African leaders while developing future basketball talents on the field of play.

Former NBA Player and currently President of Basketball Operations for G-League’s Westchester Knicks, Pops Mensah-Bonsu launched the SEED Academy in Ghana (SAG) in 2018 to help support and enhance the development of basketball, coaching, and infrastructure for the sport.

Working in partnership with SEED Project’s Amadou Gallo-Fall and owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment Ted Leonsis, alongside NBA and Africa Health Now, SEED Academy’s primary goal is to provide opportunities through mentoring coaching and signposting for future talents.
